Dear St. Joseph Families,

After arriving at St. Joseph, it was my desire, as well as the desire of many of the parishioners here who knew and loved Msgr. Clayton to establish a memorial in his honor. In consideration of his pastor's heart for the people of this school and parish, the most appropriate way for us to honor his legacy was the foundation of the Msgr. Murray Clayton Scholarship fund. Msgr. Clayton had a great passion for those in need and was driven by a desire to see children formed in the faith so that they could fulfill God's plan for them. With this aim in mind, we established the scholarship fund so that no child would be denied a Catholic education because of a lack of financial ability.

The Msgr. Clayton Scholarship was introduced to the parish August of 2017. Your contribution to the scholarship fund does so much more than pay for a school year for a child. It provides each child with a firm foundation in faith. It allows children to spend their days in a nurturing and safe environment. It prepares children for their future by equipping  them with an education designed to help ensure their success in high school, through college, and beyond. It gives every child the gift of being able to pray and to receive the Sacraments each week. When you make a donation to the Msgr. Murray Clayton Scholarship Fund, your generosity is something which the Lord takes very seriously because you are not simply writing a check--you are changing the life of a child forever.

On behalf of myself and all of us who believe that a Catholic education is essential in the lives of our children. I want to thank you for your consideration and generosity to making these families' dreams come true.

In Christ through Mary Immaculate,

Monsignor Matthew Long, St. Joseph Pastor 2017 - June 2023
