Catholic Women’s League

The Ladies at St. Joseph Catholic Church of Shreveport hosted a luncheon on Tuesday June 12th for the Catholic Women’s League. Over 70 ladies from surrounding parishes were present for fellowship and fun. The guest speaker was Dr. Cheryl White, a professor at LSU, head of Adult Faith Formation at St. John Berchman and she is also involved with the Shroud of Turin. The ladies collected canned goods and clothing for Catholic Charities and also had a fun gift bag “White Elephant” exchange.

Thank you to the Hostess, you all did a fantastic job.

Welcome Jeb Key

Hello Saint Joseph Parishioners!

My name is Jeb Key and I am a seminarian for the Diocese of Shreveport. I am from Many, Louisiana and have been a seminarian for the past three years. I spent the last year of my education at Notre Dame Seminary in New Orleans studying graduate level Theology.

It is my hope that I can learn everything that God has to teach me here at Saint Joseph while I complete my summer assignment. I plan to serve at masses this summer and focus on prayer and worshiping God in the Liturgy. I also hope to be a part of many of the activities that are going on this summer here in the parish. I will also be spending some time in the parish office to learn how a parish is ran from the business side of things.

In addition to all of this, I will continue to try to be a man of God and a man of prayer.

From the Office of Mission Effectiveness

Due to information brought to the attention of the Diocese of Shreveport regarding ethical matters relating to publications issued by the Office of Catechesis; specifically, The Go-to-Guide for Catholic Parents and Guardians, and the Catechetical Goals: Catechist Edition, the Diocese of Shreveport  no longer endorses these publications and requests that all materials be returned to your parish office.  Thank you for your support and understanding.
